{prep football preview}

Records: South Albany 7-2, 5-1 5A Mid-Willamette Conference;
Corvallis 5-4, 5-1 Mid-Willamette
South Albany plays one its biggest games in program history for the second straight week.This game decides the Mid-Willamette’s second and third seeds in the 5A state playoffs.
The winner has a bye in next week’s first round and travels to the Intermountain Conference’s No. 2 — likely Hermiston — in week two.The loser hosts the Portland Interscholastic League’s No. 3 next week.
The Rebels are in the playoffs for the first time since 2001 after missing out by one game each of the last two years.“I think we haven’t gotten a lot of respect in the last few years, and we’ve been building, but we’ve gotten better every year,” South Albany coach Tony Matta said after the West Albany game.
Corvallis lost 52-0 to top-ranked West Albany two weeks ago, while South gave the Bulldogs their best Mid-Willamette challenge this season in a 49-22 defeat last Friday.

i had to share this great blog i have been stalking for weeks now.
no.....seriously, that's the name of it. like food for my soul.
i want her house.....seriously. it's bananas.
and......i have more to update about my afternoon. i went from crazy insane ticked off to crazy insane hopeful and excited....
i will get back on and explain later.
my life is great right now. now i'm off to dish out yummy roast out of my crock pot.

{when you tell me....}

.....to vote for mccain it makes me that much happier that i voted for obama.
don't be annoying.

{buck up little pony}

cheer up buttercup! you know who you are...........

{so much to say}

i have been a bad, bad blogger. i mean way bad....extra bad. totally sucky i might add.
{hey, that rhymes}.....
so, anyway....i'm making amends tonight and blogging and commenting like nuts.
i had the best time this weekend with some great women. jessie {my partner in crime at work}, susanne {my friend since i was 10}, missy {my partner in life....well, not really....not like that kind of partner, but i'm just sayin'}, and anne {the hottest chick in corvallis}. i met anne via my blog and we all met at american dream pizza. i know, i know.....you aren't supposed to meet strangers that you meet on line.....but come on! it was anne. and she was sweet. she made me laugh. and she comments on my silly little blog all the time. i had to meet her. and i was glad i did. i think we are going to be great friends.

so here's the thing....remember my post about adoption a couple of weeks ago? well, it was the topic of discussion at our luncheon. i was telling everyone that we had taken all of the grueling dhs classes and that i had very little paperwork left to do and i was waiting on john to do his stupid autobiography. everyone just said to do it for him. because i totally could. i could totally cheat and do it for him, but it's for our kid, so i thought that might be a little wrong. however, when i got home that night i told him i was going to. and the funny thing was.....he was kind of o.k. with it proving my point that he just didn't want to take the time to do it.

and then ironically that night while i was blog surfing adoption sites.....i came across this one and read it front top to bottom. are you kidding me right now? i die. so it made me think about something else we had talked about at our lunch. and that was the fact that you have to jump through so many hoops before you can actually lay eyes on the kids that are available for adoption.......so i went to this site........

and who did i lay my eyes on? but the cutest 4 and 6 year old i have ever seen in my life. evin and kevin {hee hee}.....the oldest loves basketball, football, and dinosaurs {believe me.....in this family he scores big points for that!} and the little guy is a snuggler big time. you know i had to print the picture. so john could actually see them......and then it happened.

he started asking questions about them, read their bio, and when i came home from work tonight he was hand writing his entire autobiography. he is completely done! now i just have to type it for him. can i get an amen? thank you friends for the prayers and good vibes because i'm tellin' ya, it worked. after 10 years it may have worked.

and i want to send a shout out to my bff for making the most unique costumes for her kids for halloween. she made them all by herself. she is so crafty. i love that girl. what a great mama!
ahhhh......i feel better for blogging and catching everyone up with my life today.
peace out, cub scout.
now it's off to watch the great pumpkin.

{sometimes....}

"Sometimes I'd like to ask God why He allows poverty, famine, and injustice in the world when He could do something about it.....but, I'm afraid God might ask me the same question."
-annonymous

{tu....tu...excited for tomorrow}

working on miss maddie's tutu for halloween.....can't wait to see yours jess.

i will post pictures of the finished project on halloween. so, so cute.

excited for tomorrow with the girlies. see you at noon.

{money}

i just wanted to make something very clear when i said that i don't value {money}....
i have a great respect for money.
it buys me coffee at starbucks every morning {and sometimes in the afternoon}, it puts a roof over the head of my family, feeds my family, and allows me to save for retirement
{if there is anything left after our economy stops tanking}......
what i really meant by that is that money doesn't make me happy, nor do i feel that money "buys" happiness.
i work in a field where people are judged by how much money they have and what they can do with their money. they are invited places, doors open, and people bow down to them....all because of money.
i am here to tell you that does not make people happy. i see it every single day.
that was what i meant by that, but if you know me.....you already knew that.

{my advice}

when we were living in coos bay as a very young couple i had a dear friend give me the best advice that i never took......and i regret it to this day.
john and zachary were at her house with her 3 boys and her husband and she and i were walking with my newborn {madison} in their neighborhood.
i remember telling her that i couldn't wait to have another baby because {i had so many cool names picked out}......obviously there were other reasons, but to my 26 year old self that was just as good a reason as any......lol!!
anyway.....it brought up the subject of having 3 kids. she told me that over the years they had talked about having their third and had a million reasons why they shouldn't, but couldn't think of many why they should......
until they had him.
and then she said to me {you will never regret having another child, but someday you may regret not having one}.....
i'm there.
my advice to any of you who are reading this is that if you think in even the tiniest way that you may want to have another baby......just do it.

{rebels clinch playoff bid}

South Albany football coach Tony Matta let his team know from the first day he took the reins last spring that he believed the Rebels were a playoff team.The players bought in, and Friday they proved their coach right.Sixth-ranked South rushed for 365 yards — including 247 in the first half — in a dominating 56-28 Mid-Willamette Conference win against visiting Crescent Valley.The victory wraps up a 5A state playoff berth with two weeks to go. The Rebels (7-1, 5-0 league) play at top-ranked West Albany (8-0, 5-0) next week.“Hard work pays off,” said senior running back Jesse Duke. “We’ve been working for four years now, and this is the outcome of it. We’re just playing like a team and getting it done.”Duke rushed 15 times for 79 yards and two first-half touchdowns.South junior Lane Stutzman scored on a 33-yard pass reception, a 3-yard run and a 70-yard interception return on the last play of the first half that gave the Rebels a 36-7 halftime lead.Sophomore Bryce Stutzman added two touchdown runs in the second half, including one for 68 yards on the second play from scrimmage in the third quarter.“They really stacked it up well,” Matta said of Crescent Valley. “We had a couple long passes, and that really loosens it up a little bit.“That’s the best O-line we’ve had here in a long time.”That offensive line includes Jake Atkins, TJ Chapman, Steven Gonzalez, David Hardenbrook, Justin Robbins, Trever Rediger, Kyle Sprenkle and Bond Sumey.The line also protected quarterback Zac Hunter, who completed 5 of 10 passes for 109 yards, including a 43-yarder to Lane Stutzman for South’s first score.The Rebels led big at halftime, allowing them to enjoy the win a littler earlier.The seniors gathered after the game for a group picture with their coaches.“I feel excited for those senior kids who worked hard for four years and built on the legacy before them and continued to improve,” Matta said.It’s been a long road back to state for the Rebels. That’s particularly true the last two seasons, when South finished fifth in the Mid-Willamette and one game out of the state playoffs.In 2006, two of the Rebels’ league losses were by a total of seven points, including a 10-7 overtime defeat to Dallas.Last year, the season went right down to the final week, when Silverton defeated South for the final playoff spot.“The last two years we just didn’t click like we are this year,” Duke said.Added senior lineman Michael VanDoren: “We’re just better as a whole and making plays when we need to make them.”Crescent Valley (5-3, 3-2) entered the game with a chance to get closer to a playoff berth, but the odds are now slim with games against Corvallis (4-4, 4-1) and West Albany remaining.Andre Oglesby led the Raiders with 82 yards on 22 carries.South Albany 56, Crescent Valley 28Crescent Valley 7 0 7 14 — 28South Albany 24 12 13 7 — 56First quarterCV: Kiel Larkin 33 pass from Andre Oglesby (Jake Weber kick), 10:43SA: Lane Stutzman 43 pass from Zac Hunter (Jesse Duke run), 9:05SA: Duke 5 run (L. {happy halloween}

don't be scared.

{my advice for bff tonight}

{it's just my reality}

i mean.......
have you been watching top design? i try not to get hooked on decorating shows because frankly i watch way too much reality t.v., but lately i am hooked on this show.
the chickie poo above is andrea. i have been drawn to her all season because she is basically just a mama on a farm who doesn't really have real design experience and i more or less thought she could have been someone like me who just lucked out on the chance to be on the show......but then i found out who she really is........
andrea SHROEDER....as in ricky shroeder....as in silver spoons, the champ, and nypd blue ricky shroeder. that has ruined her appeal to me. but, i'm just sayin'.

this is natalie. she got kicked off last night and i am so bummed. she is super young.....in her early twenties and just a kick in the butt. i could totally be her friend. i totally want to be her friend. she has the cutest style and was my fave on the show. pisser. she's gone.

now.....to my favorite, favorite show that is now O-V-E-R for the season (i die).....i absolutely, positively love brad and want him to be my bff. not that missy is replaceable {she's not} but if i had to pick a gay best friend he would totally be my will to his grace. love.

and to answer your question to my previous post about this show {susanne} the answer is a screaming YES! Taylor is a complete bizzle and mean to my brad and needs to brush her hair and pull the stick out. she is a hot mess.

shut it down.

{prep preview}

Crescent Valley at No. 6 South Albany
Records: Crescent Valley 5-2, 3-1 5A Mid-Willamette Conference
South Albany6-1, 4-0
This is South’s biggest game since the 2007 regular-season finale at Silverton. A win clinches a state playoff berth and at least third place in the league for South.The Rebels are looking for their first state playoff appearance since 2001.
i was under the impression that we were already in the playoffs, but obviously the paper knows something i don't. it will be a shame if these kids don't make it now.....they have worked so hard and deserve some respect.
zac was 9 the last time the rebels were in the playoffs and was the ball boy for the team. they got to travel on the big fancy bus with the big boys.
seems like yesterday........

{i die}

happy halloweenie!

i die. so, so love.

{my hutch}

i'm kind of over halloween already.....i think it's because zac has a game that night and my night is going to be all out of sorts because i won't be around when madison gets dressed {boo}, i will be sitting at a football game instead of handing out candy, and megan won't come over....which is always a bonus.

so needless to say, i wasn't really in the mood to decorate that new little hutch of mine. i just threw some ugly old halloween stuff i had and called it good.

everyone had such good posts this morning......

my new blogger buddy anne is getting married. can i get a whoop, whoop! and i think that we definitely need to set a date for lunch, dinner, whateva' darlin!

{guilty pleasure}

The stylist star of Bravo's The Rachel Zoe Project (Tuesdays at 10 p.m.) is a catchphrase machine. But which of her sayings will take hold as quickly as her fashion trends?

''I die.''Translation''I cannot go on living without this gown/bangle/patchwork fur poncho.''
Catchy? Yes, and so true. Who says fashion isn't a matter of life and death? A-

''You look bananas.''Translation''Even a monkey could see how hot that is.''
Catchy? This goofy gush would've been perfect — if ''Hollaback Girl'' Gwen Stefani hadn't claimed it first. F

''Hero dress.''Translation''This is the one that will save the day."
Catchy? Cute, but everyday use (''That egg salad is totally my hero sandwich'') is tricky. C+

''Witch vibe.''Translation''I have a good feeling about this.''
Catchy? We're definitely getting a witch vibe off this one. Oh, look! We're already using it! B+

''You are shutting it down.''Translation''The intensity of your fabulousness is causing my nervous system to fail.''
Catchy Honestly? This one is just plain bananas. We die. A+

{just putting this out into the universe}

have you ever heard the saying that if you {just put it out into the universe} it will come to be?
so....that's what i am doing. putting it out there. i want another baby. two would be great; i would settle for one.

i don't think this comes as a big suprise to most people who know me, but i just kind of keep it to myself a lot unless asked. and i want to adopt. race, country, and any age under about 3 or 4 would be just lovely to me. i'm not too picky {well maybe a little bit picky}

john and i recently finished taking classes through dhs {department of human services} and i have all of my paper work done minus john's. he has been doing a little at a time and never quite seems to have time to finish it.

he came home from work on friday and told me that he is in love with a little kindergarten girl at one of his schools who was adopted from texas. he said if he could adopt her tomorrow he would do it.

there is hope. it is either a ploy to keep me from moving forward with dhs, or he is genuinely o.k. with spending a little bit of money.

for heaven sakes.....i've been driving around this friggin' tracker for 3 years now in an effort to save money. the money i would spend on a new car would be the cost of an adoption. hmmmm.....no brainer to me.

keep us in your prayers.
