{sweet silver lining}

I'm going home
Downhearted and hoping
I'm close to some new beginning
I know
There's a reason for everything
That comes and goes

But so many people are looking to me
To be strong and to fight
But I'm just surviving
I may be weak but I'm never defeated
And I'll keep believing
In clouds with that sweet silver lining

Most days
I try my best to put on a brave face
But inside
My bones are cold and my heart breaks
But all the while
Something is keeping me safe
And alive

But so many people are looking to me
To be strong and to fight
But I'm just surviving
I may be weak but I'm never defeated
And I'll keep believing
In clouds with that sweet silver lining

I wont give up like this
I will be given strength
And now that I've found it
Nothing can take that away

But so many people are looking to me
To be strong and to fight
But I'm just surviving
I may be weak but I'm never defeated
And I'll keep believing

But so many people are looking to me
To be strong and to fight
But I'm just surviving
I may be weak but I'm never defeated
And I'll keep believing
In clouds with that sweet silver lini

{rebels sweep bulldogs}

"That's the great thing about baseball. You never know who the hero is going to be."
South Albany coach Chad Angel was looking for a hero Friday night and got it from an unlikely source.
Josh Heckman's grand slam with two outs in the bottom of the seventh completed the Rebels' comeback from six runs down earlier in the game.
Justin Robbins' RBI double in the eighth finished the job, giving South a 10-9 win against host West Albany and a three-game sweep of the Mid-Willamette Conference baseball series.
Heckman was unhappy with his hitting and his performance as South's starting pitcher in the second game.
But he caught a fastball from West reliever Cody James.
"I was looking for my pitch and I jumped on it. It was perfect," Heckman said.
West (11-9, 8-7 league) was headed toward salvaging one game against South (12-8, 9-6) after losing the first game 4-2 Thursday and 4-3 in the first game of the doubleheader Friday.
The Bulldogs led 6-0 after four innings and were still up 9-4 after six, answering four South runs in the frame with three of their own in the bottom.
Four straight Rebels reached base in the bottom of the seventh off two hits and two West errors, with the second getting South within 9-5.
Tyler Gulaskey popped out before Heckman sent a ball beyond the center field wall.
"It's the first time we've come back, and done that (on a) gigantic stage. Just a fantastic job," Angel said.
Before last week's sweep of Crescent Valley, West lost two of three to Lebanon.
"We are in a rut and I don't know how to get us out of it," Bulldogs coach Don Lien said.
Next week's series with Silverton (11-10, 9-6) will go a long way toward determining West's state playoff fate. The Bulldogs finish the regular season the following week against winless Woodburn.
South, which plays Dallas (9-12, 5-10) next week, is currently tied for second place with Lebanon and Silverton. West is tied with Crescent Valley for fifth.
"We need to take care of the little things and control the things we can control and we'll be OK," Lien said.
Challenging Heckman for hero of the night honors was junior teammate Travis Kelley.
Kelley pitched a complete game in the first game, striking out seven and walking one.
Kelley took a line drive from West's Harry Reid off his left lower leg with one out in the second inning but finished the game.
He had his leg wrapped between games and played off adrenaline.
In the second game, Kelley replaced South reliever Aaron Swigert after Swigert started West's Jacob Stitzel with a 2-0 count to open the seventh.
He got two groundouts and a strikeout to push the game to an extra inning.
In the eighth, he allowed a one-out single but struck out the final two batters.
Heckman's homer came after Kelley had told Angel he was ready to go back to the mound after 93 pitches in the first game.
"That's what got me fired up and made me want to come in and finish it," he said. "I was confident. I was ready to do work."
Angel added: "He wanted it and came out and took care of business. He wants a ball like that and has a performance like that, we'll give it to him."
In the top half of the eighth, Edgar Flores singled in the leadoff spot but was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double.
Cody Marrs then walked and Jonathan Neuschwander struck out.
Pinch hitter Billy Eason walked and Robbins followed with a double to right fieldto score Marrs.
West got a fourth-inning grand slam from Stitzel, West's starting pitcher.
The Bulldogs got doubles from Nick Lebengood, Jackson Ruckert, Tevin Schindler and Jesse Trader.
South's Neuschwander and Zac Hunter had three hits apiece.
In the first game, South scored four runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead and never trailed again.
West went ahead 2-0 in the second on a run-scoring single by Reid and a ground out by Tanner Hall.
In the fourth, the Rebels got consecutive two-run singles from Robbins and Kelley.
The Bulldogs got one run back in the fifth on an RBI triple by Christian Lichtenthaler.
Ruckert reached with a one-out single in the seventh but was thrown out trying to steal second by South catcher Cody Chagnon.
Kelley finished the game by striking out Stitzel, who led the Bulldogs in the game with two hits.
Robbins and teammate Cody Chagnon had two hits each for the Rebels.
West's Jonathan Stavros joined Kelley in pitching a complete game. He struck out two and walked four.
