{little update...short and sweet}

madison is still busy with track. she has a track meet at willamette on saturday that i am *shocker* going to miss...because of ladies night out. bummed big time.

the assembly at the kids school before the marshall game was fun! the juniors won the tug of war by a land slide. funny to be there and see zac with all of his crazy friends.

fed all of the kids lunch before we left....that's me in the back with the grey sweater...i have no idea what i was doing....i think it was right after i got roped into serving ham like a lunch lady with plastic gloves. it was kind of gross.

the kids lost their last game against glencoe by one dumb little point in the bottom of the eleventh inning! 2 - 3. they have a lot to be proud of. i will miss this team.

gearing up for ladies night out this weekend....way too much to do tomorrow. i am officially stressed out. you should see my list.

dropped her off at the dealership this morning.
it was very sad. she looked really pretty sitting in my driveway.
need to make a decision.
could someone please just go fill out all the paperwork and drop it back off for me?
is that asking too much?

{stole this from madison}

''Stop selling yourself short. forget that whole 'keep your friends close, your enemies closer' baloney. ditch your enemies and devote your free time to getting closer to the people who make you smile and make you feel good about yourself. you can't put a lid on your feelings just to make other people happy. take control and act with your best interests in mind. live for yourself. so fail. be bad at things. be embarrassed. be afraid. be vulnerable. go out on a limb or two or twelve, and you will fall and it'll hurt. but the harder you fall, the farther you will rise. the louder you fall, the clearer your future becomes''

stole that quote from madison's myspace page today. i thought it was very good advice.

{rebels clinch playoff bid}

A late-season push puts
South Albany into the
postseason for the first time
BY JESSE SOWA
ALBANY DEMOCRAT-HERALD
A complete team game Thursday helped
South Albany reach new heights in the
school’s baseball history.
The Rebels got a solid performance from
sophomore starting pitcher Travis Kelley and
pounded 11 hits in a 7-1 home win against
Lebanon.
South Albany took away most of the drama
early, building a 5-0 lead after two innings,
which might explain why the Rebels clinching
their first ever trip to the state playoffs
was met with not much more than handshakes
among teammates.
Junior Josh Robbins,
who had three
hits, including two
doubles, said his
team wasn’t going
to show up
Lebanon on the
field.
“We’ve still got a
game tomorrow,”
he said. “We’re
keeping our class.
We’re not a bush
league team.“
The win moves
South one game
ahead of Lebanon
in the Mid-
Willamette Conference
regular season with only this afternoon’s
game at Lebanon left to close out the
regular season.
Regardless of today’s outcome, the Rebels
(12-13, 10-10 league) get the Mid-Willamette’s
fourth seed to state after winning the threegame
series with the Warriors (9-13, 9-11).
South has now won four of its last five
games after taking two of three from Dallas
last week.
“I think the way that we’ve been playing
lately, they expected to come out and win,”
South coach Chad Angel said of his team’s
subdued celebration.“We’ve got other things
that we’ve got to accomplish now, too.”
Kelley picked up his fifth win of the season
after he struck out nine and allowed five hits
and three walks. Lebanon’s run came in the
fifth, after loading the bases on three hits. Jon
Hiebert’s sacrifice fly produced the run.
“He’s been throwing really well for us,”
Angel said of Kelley. “He did a nice job,
showed a lot of composure for a sophomore
up there. A big game for him.”
South got two in the first on RBI singles by
Robbins and Cody Chagnon. Three more
came home in the second, the first on a
bases-loaded error and the next two on the
first of Robbins’ two doubles.
The Rebels added their last two runs in the
fourth with four hits.
After Josh Heckman and Robbins reached
based with hits, Zac Hunter drove in one with
a single and Chagnon brought home the next
with a double.
Hunter joined Robbins with three hits.
“We came through,” Robbins said. “We’re
starting to smack the ball around a little bit,
and did a good job of that.”
After Lebanon defeated Crescent Valley
13-10 last Friday, the Warriors still had a
chance to finish as high as third. But Lebanon
has since lost three straight and scored only
four runs.
“I would really like to see our guys step up
in the big game,” Lebanon coach Jeff Stolsig
said. “We weren’t very aggressive. (Kelley)
was throwing a lot of fastballs and we weren’t
very aggressive on it. We should have been
swinging the bat more.“
Lebanon reliever Cameron Thompson held
South scoreless for two-plus innings after replacing
starter Craig Trask in the fourth.
South will travel for its first game of the 5A
state playoffs, likely with a game at Marshall,
the Portland Interscholastic League’s third
seed, on May 22.
Thursday, the Rebels carried some momentum
from a 14-0 win at Lebanon on Tuesday.
They’ll try to keep that going today and into
the playoffs.
“We’re swinging the bat really well. We’ve
been pitching really well the last few weeks,”
Angel said.“We’ve been scoring runs.We’ve
been playing good baseball at the end of the
season and that’s important.”

{catching up with the kids}

i love to blog, so when it has been a couple of days {or weeks} since you have seen me, you know i have been way too busy. just wanted to catch everyone up on what has been going on with our busy little lives. miss maddie lou ran in the hershey's track meet last week and qualified for the state meet in july. she ran the 800 {which she had never run before....or even trained for}. so proud of her. she did a great job!

we had our final volleyball tournament last weekend at oregon state university. that's madison {52} in the white jersey. she is the labero on the team, thus the odd ball uniform. very fitting for our little odd ball maddie! the girls all got their coach a shirt that said "shawn's benches" with a list of all of their names underneath.....so funny. "shawn's benches....instead of shawn's b**ches." i love it. some of you may not get the humor, but i absolutely love it.

here she is with paige and zoe....always a goof ball. we were getting ready to go eat at mcmenamins and the three of them were doing the "ho down, throw down" by miley cyrus singing at the top of their lungs. they had a ball.

zachary had his first junior/senior prom last weekend. it was in salem at the reed opera house. he said it was the best dance he has ever been to. he went with meg {of course} and his friend jake and his girlfriend courtney.

the kids looked so cute. zac drove everyone in the hummer and they all went to eat at a new restaurant called "bentley's."

took lots of cute pics and will try and get some more up when i have more time.
i literally have nothing to eat in the house except for pop tarts and apples. the whole family {except me and the dog} just left to go to western oregon for the state track meet. i need to get motivated to do a little shopping.

zac is rocking it in baseball......one more win and south will make it to the playoffs for the first time in the school's history. more on that later.

need to get the food situation under control.
