{warriors edge rebels *crap*}

If the rest of the Mid-Willamette Conference football schedule is anything like this , it will be a wild ride.
Tance Privratsky scored on a 2-yard touchdown with 11.8 seconds remaining Friday to give Lebanon a 27-21 win at South Albany to open conference play.
Privratsky's score was the fourth between the two teams in the last 9:09 of the game.
South (1-3, 0-1) had scored on a TJ Gibson touchdown catch with 1:16 left to get within two, and the Rebels tied it on quarterback Josh Heckman's 2-point conversion pass to Lane Stutzman.
But the Warriors came right back, fueled by a long kickoff return by Brendon Richards to the South 46.
Lebanon quarterback LT Avants started the drive with a 21-yard run, followed by carries of 3, 15 and 2 - all by Avants - to reach the South 5.
After a timeout with 34 seconds left, the Warriors (2-2, 1-0) ran two quick plays, with Privratsky first taking Avants' handoff to the 2 and then in for the score.
"We just capitalized when we needed to," Privratsky said. "Our line got off the ball and made good blocks and the quarterback made the right read."
Privratsky didn't practice much with the offense this past week, leaving him to believe he wasn't going to get many carries.
But he finished 69 yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries.
Privratsky was one of four Warriors with 50 or more yards rushing, joining quarterback LT Avants (13-103) and running backs Adam Colwell (10-70) and Josiah Olson (7-50).
"They all run extremely hard and our offensive line is doing a good job of opening some holes for them," Lebanon coach Rob Allen. "We believe in our veer (offense), and you're going to have to play some pretty good defense to stop all three options off of that."
South, using an entirely new offense and defense this season, scored on the last play of the first half on a 36-yard pass from Heckman to Hunter to close within 14-7.
That helped gain some momentum the Rebels had missed out on earlier in the half.
South got within one on Hunter's 30-yard run early in the fourth quarter, and Privratsky scored on a 12-yard scamper, setting up the Rebels' drive that tied it.
"It seems like we kind of hit our stride in the second half offensively, where we want to be at," Hunter said.
"We ran the ball extremely well, better than we have all year. I think that's a credit to the time the line has been putting in the last couple weeks."
South senior right tackle Bond Sumey was playing in his first game of the season after recovering from a broken foot.
Bryce Stutzman led the Rebel rushing attack with 89 yards on 24 carries.
Heckman was 15 of 22 passing for 177 yards. Hunter caught four balls for 58 yards.
"We came out on the short end, but we don't have anything to hang our heads about," South coach Tony Matta said.
"Nobody's going to walk in here and walk out with an easy win. You're going to know you battled."
Matta said he liked what he saw from his offense, particularly in the second half.
He has confidence his team will bounce back.
"It's all coming together and we're going to be just fine," Matta said. "We're a playoff team, no doubt."

{homecoming bon fire}
the homecoming bon fire was last night at the high school.
i don't typically go....i mean i have gone once or twice, but didn't really think twice about going this year. zac didn't really make it sound like it was that big of a deal....and plus, he wasn't playing in the game.
boy....did i make a huge mistake!
zac warming up the mike...umm....you heard me right. my zac was getting ready to make the inspirational speach for homecoming at the bon fire.
here he is sitting on top of all of the pallets before they lit them on fire with his bull horn. notice he is wearing a shirt in this picture because apparently in the next picture he starts stripping!
he pulls off the red shirt down to a white one and then eventually rips that one off and throws it on the burn pile and has NO shirt on! i guess everyone went nuts and was screaming and yelling.he said people he didn't even know were high fiving him afterward.
can't believe i missed it. looking forward to the game tonight. that kid has some guts!
